Introducing Shaun Kohlman, singing instructor at East Coast Music
Shaun is an extremely versatile performer and has extensive training in Musical Theatre, Jazz and Contemporary voice. Shaun is currently undertaking a musical theatre internship with Harvest Rain Theatre Company where he will hone his skills in the performing arts. He first began studies at the Griffith University Conservatorium of Music at the age of 15. Shaun has performed in such musicals as Back to the 80s, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Pirates of Penzance, The Three Musketeers and the Brisbane premier of High School Musical – On Stage. Other theatrical credits include Peter Pan, Mirror Mirror, Table for One, The Landlord and Captain Christmas and the Defenders of the Silly Season. Shaun has also musically directed Carols by the Bay at Wellington Point as well as assisting in various musicals around the Redlands area.
Shaun recently appeared on the Australian premier of the channel 7 series Battle of the Choirs with Voiceworks of the Queensland Youth Choir. Despite his busy schedule; Shaun maintains his commitment to the Choir and its new Musical director, nationally acclaimed Operatic Baritone Jason Barry Smith
Although it is only early in the year, Shaun has already begun rehearsals for his first three shows; Refugee 3, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and most notably Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Playhouse theatre, QPAC, where he will perform along side Michael Falzon of We Will Rock You and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
